David Dooley is an American man who was wrongfully convicted of murdering Michelle Mockbee, a co-worker at the Thermo Fisher Scientific warehouse in Kentucky, in 2012. Despite alibi evidence and no physical evidence linking him to the crime, Dooley was found guilty in 2014 and sentenced to life in prison.
Dooley maintained his innocence throughout the trial and subsequent appeals, claiming that he was framed for the murder. In 2020, his conviction was overturned after it was revealed that crucial evidence – security camera footage and witness statements – that could have proven his innocence had been withheld by the prosecution.
Following the overturning of his conviction, Dooley was released from prison and a new trial was ordered. As of 2021, Dooley is awaiting a new trial and continues to fight to clear his name and seek justice for the wrongful conviction that cost him years of his life.
